Mit dem ASUS Eee PC 1004DN ist nun das erste Netbook mit optischem Laufwerk (CD/DVD-Brenner) auf den Markt gekommen – zunächst allerdings nur in Taiwan. Nicht dass man optische Laufwerke in Netbooks bislang wirklich vermisst hätte, aber nun gibt es eben auch diese Option bei den äußerst populären Mini-Laptops von Asus. Das Gewicht des ASUS Eee PC 1004DN ist trotz DVD-Brenner/CD-Brenner nur rund 1,45 Kilogramm.
Preis des Eee PC 1004DN Netbooks mit 10,2-Zoll-Display, das erstmal bei der CES 2009 in Las Vegas als Prototyp gezeigt wurde: rund 428 Euro (608 Dollar).
