Still und leise haben Sony und Microsoft  ihren Spielekonsolen Xbox 360 und Playstation 3 Firmware-Updates verpasst. Die Sony-Firmware für die PS3 hat das Kürzel v2.70 und bringt der PS3 nun u.a. Chat-Fähigkeit für bis zu 16 Spieler.

Zudem gibt es paar andere nette Features für die PS3 (siehe unten).

Auch Sony-Erzrivale Microsoft hat ein Firmware-Update für die Xbox 360 veröffentlich. Um das “System zu stabilisieren” wie die Redmonder elegant sagen – jedoch ohne neue Zusatzfunktionen.

Video delivery service on PlayStation Store

* Video files you’ve purchased from the PlayStation Store can be backed up to an external storage device and then restored to PS3’s internal hard drive for playback – so you can clear up space on your hard drive and then restore the video anytime in the future
* Videos you’ve purchased for PSP (PlayStation Portable) system can now be transferred to PS3 for playback
